Being a Medford family photographer, I have a lot of fall sessions at Kirby’s Mill every year. This session was something specail though. Sometimes you meet a family and you know right away that they just match who you are as a parent. This family is one of those families where their love and values just remind you of what you try and strive for in your own family. I originally met them a month earlier for their son, Robbie’s cake smash. Robbie is such a cutie and already so independent. He wanted to walk the whole time by himself and chase the leaves. As independent as this little boy is though, every once in a while he would just run to mommy or daddy to be held.
We discussed a few locations for their session, but they decided to go with one of my favorite places, Kirby’s Mill. The fall foliage is beautiful and the pictures by the old mill give the pictures that rustic old school charm I love incorporating into my sessions.
I got to crank out my 135 lens too for this session, which is a favorite of mine. The bokah that I get with this lens is just amazing. It makes the background so creamy and dreamy and really allows the family to be the focus point of the photos. I always like to use at least two lenses during my sessions so my customers get a variety of images from being in only one location. This lens has a super long scope so unfortunately I’m only able to use it outside in areas where there is a lot of room to move around.
If you’re looking for a Medford family photographer, please reach out to me to schedule your session. There are so many great locations in Medford that we could take photos at include Johnson’s farm. They have incredible seasonal portrait opportunities with their pumpkin patches and sunflowers.
My January is already fully booked, but I am taking slots for February and beyond. I hope to talk to you soon!
