A Little Bit About Us
Salwach Photography is the premier South Jersey newborn, child and family photographer specializing in natural light portraits serving all of South Jersey and parts of the Philly region. We capture moments that will last forever including babies’ milestone packages and children’s first birthday cake smashes. We are an on location photographer based out of Sicklerville, NJ serving South Jersey residents.
I do not just capture pictures, but special moments that are frozen in time and will be something you will look back on forever. They are timeless photos that will always have a special place in your heart.
Its not just about taking your photo, but giving you an amazing experience. From the very beginning to the end, you will feel like you are in the right hands. One of my 6 year old clients held my hand after her photo shoot and told me “You are the funnest person to ever take my picture” If that doesn’t sum up how you can expect your experience to be, I’m not sure what can.
I make it my mission to have your photo be worth a thousand words and give you an unforgettable experience…

Baby Milan and her Mommy came to my South Jersey studio last month for her newborn photos. They were my lucky participants from my newborn model call that was held earlier January. I hit it off right away with Milan’s mommy and we had a blast while photographing Milan. Milan unfortunately had other ideas about how her session was going to go and wanted to stay up almost all of her session. All is forgiven though because she is the most adorable baby! I just can’t get over that head of curls, makes my heart completely melt! She also had the best unblemished baby skin, ahhh shes so adorable! Thank you for bringing her to me so I could photograph her and I hope to meet Milan’s two older brothers soon for their family photo shoot!
Some people say only baby boys can wear blue, but Milan proves otherwise. She is the first lucky newborn to get to wear this vintage blue diamond encrusted tie back. I love buying new props. Hey, did you know, that if there is a certain prop you would really love for your baby to have during their pictures that I may be able to purchase it for your session? I am looking for new color combinations all the time and if there is a certain color you just love, let me know and we can talk it over. I always try and be flexible with my photo shoots, I want my customers to have the best experience and leave feeling more like we are family then just a service.
See what I mean here, could she be any more awake? Milan’s mommy said that the last two days all she wanted to do was look around and experience the world. I”m pretty sure this one is going to be an adventurer and a go geter. Its amazing how even in the first few days, you can get such a sense of who your child will grow up to be, they have such personalities at such a young age. Thank you again for bringing her over for her photos, enjoy!
Krystal’s lifestyle maternity photo shoot was held at her adorable vintage home in Berlin, NJ on a beautiful February day. I would love to have every stick of her furniture in her South Jersey house moved to mine, I would probably not ever have to buy another photography prop ever again! It was like a wonderland for a photographer. Krystal makes an incredibly beautiful pregnant woman, she practically glows and I feel so privileged I was invited into their home to share in their joy of awaiting for their arrival!M
One of the most important and definitely rewarding parts of being a photographer is having loyal clients and Krystal’s family is the best! Usually I only get to capture Krystal’s son, Glenn, for his birthday photos, but this time I was able to get the entire family behind the camera and it was an amazing experience. This was my first maternity photo shoot and it may have gotten me hooked to book some more.
Maternity sessions are usually taken at 32-34 weeks. Maternity photos not only get to capture your growing belly and pregnancy glow, they capture all the love in your family for the baby growing in your belly. The reason I like to do them before 35 weeks is the possibility that the newborn may make his/ her appearance before your session arrives. We don’t want to miss out on the opportunity of capturing this important milestone. As in the case of Krystal, their little one decided to arrive two weeks early and she didn’t even have time to choose her maternity pictures before we took his newborn pictures. Lifestyle sessions in your home can take place anytime of day in a well lite room. I try in all cases for natural light when possible, but as with this session it was a bit cloudy outside and I needed to use a bit of off camera flash for extra light. If you would like an outdoor location, I like to take them around sunset or sunrise just like my other photo shoots as the light is most pleasing and we could capture some amazing skies with your photos.
Glenn is seriously going to be the best brother ever. He loves to kiss his mama’s tummy and can’t wait until his little brother is born. He is also a natural model, he never shys away from the camera. We’re friends, lol!
Last month I put out a newborn model call and was able connected with two awesome South Jersey newborn mothers. My other model call baby will be in next week, but I can’t wait anymore to share the photos from my first last month. I was lucky enough to find Hannah who had just given birth to little Remington on January 4th and would be available the next week for her photo shoot.
The best time to bring in your little ones is during the first ten days as they tend to sleep more soundly and like to curl up into these adorable poses! These photos were taken at my home studio, but I also travel to parent’s house for convince.
This little lady is one lucky little girl too. She came with her entire entourage, Mom, Grandmom, Great Grandmom and sister-in-law, and anytime I even suggested needing someone to hold her for a minute, three people jumped up at the chance. Being the first grandchild, she will never need for any attention I’m sure.
Okay, I’m not going to lie people’s feet freak me out a little bit…..bbbbbuuuuuttt I do love me some baby toes! How perfectly tiny are they!?!? I also knew as soon as I saw Remington that she was born to wear pink and with that glowy newborn skin, it was definitely going to be her color.
She was such a perfect little model, she slept through most of her session and we were able to get some amazing photos of her. She looks like a little baby doll! Mom and Dad are so lucky to have gotten this bundle of joy. Thank you Hannah for allowing me to capture Remington’s newborn photos. I hope to see Remington on her first birthday and get a little messy with a cake smash. Enjoy!
This holiday season began with my photo shoot with the winners of my “Season of Giveaway” was one of my favorites of the year! It was an absolute pleasure meeting South Jersey Mom, Brandi and her spunky daughter Gabby. The bond between the two is completely evident in every single photo! They also couldn’t have been any nicer of people. I am so happy they were selected. I have so much respect for single parents as raising a child is hard enough with two parents that so much credit goes to someone who raises an amazing kid on their own. I can’t wait to do this again next year and bring some joy to others, I may even have to do it twice a year!
We lucked out picking a day that was a little chilly, but did not yet have that bite of winter in the air. This was my second time shooting at Kirby’s Mill in Medford, NJ and I may have enjoyed it even more than I did the first time. The bright red building really gives each photo a fun and upbeat characteristic that went so well with this family’s personality. They also have this great path in the back that I love to shoot down and I always make the kids run down this path, really helps break down the session and let the kids have a bit of fun and a way to show off their individual personalities. Seriously, look at that little girl run! I asked her to skip down the path like a princess and instead she ran like a little Olympic hurler. If this doesn’t show who she is as a person, I would be shocked. You can tell she likes to take charge and be herself. What an awesome kid! Thank you Brandi for allowing me to capture your family this fall, I can’t wait to hopefully see you two again in the spring for maybe a sunflower session 😉
Next year around Mother’s Day, I would really like to have some Mother’s Day mini sessions. Working with Gabby and Brandi really made me see how special of a bond a mother and child bond can really be! It’ll also hopefully be warmer outside as I am dying to get outside and photograph. Its only the beginning of January, but already I’m itching for that warmer spring weather.

Fall portraits can be so much fun with the vibrant and colorful leaves and the overbearing beat of Summer has finally passed. Natalie and her family choose Batsto, NJ for their South Jersey fall family portraits and this just happens to be one of my favorite places to shoot at with its rustic charm and its just so full of history! You can get a variety of photo choices with their colorful doors, barns and lake.
I want to give a quick shout out to Mom2Mom of South Jersey http://mom2momnj.com/, where Natalie found my information. Not only is this a great place to find different resources in your area such as photographers, doctors, dentists and hair salons it has great activities for your family to participate in the area and awesome giveaways. If your a parent, I definitely recommend checking out this website and their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Mom2MomNJ.
Natalie’s family was great to shoot. I mean how cute are these kids! Mom had to bribe them with a few doughnuts from the Williamstown Amish market, but hey that will keep anyone in line. It certainly would me 😉 I wanted to also give them a shout out for such great outfit choices. All my clients lately have been turning up in the most perfect outfits! Can you believe that this mama sewed her dress the night before?!?! I was floored, like seriously that is some talent! My clients are the best! I made a doll blanket and doll pillows the other night for my daughter’s baby dolls and I totally thought I was amazing. I guess I need to reevaluate my opinion lol!
If your looking to book with me and have any questions on what to wear, lets have a chat! Sometimes the clothing for your photo shoot can really make or break your photos.
I love the above shot for the meaning behind it. His Grandfather had a similar photo with is Grandmother when they were younger. How sweet is it that I got to recreate their photo! These are the type of photos that you will cherish forever and I’m so happy I got to be apart of this special moment!
Building a good repour with my little clients is one of the hardest but most rewarding things to do. I love that by the end of the photoshoots the little ones feel comfortable making silly faces and running around with me.
Owner and Photographer at Salwach Photography
Salwach Photography is owned by South Jersey raised Samantha, usually referred to as Sam. I am mother to the world’s most beautiful little girl. She is the one who inspires me everyday to make the most out of life. She is also the one who made me push myself to finally follow my dreams and become a photographer. I wish I had a really unique story of why I became a photographer, but its pretty standard.
Years before I seriously considered becoming a photographer, I would stare at newborn and wedding photos and just soak up every detail loving these images. I worked in Human Resources at a staffing company in Philly at the time and decided to stay home when my wonderful husband and I had our first born. I just could not get enough of photographing each little detail of her tiny toes and hands and wanted to take amazing pictures like the ones I always saw online. From there I got my first DSLR when she was around one and went to work following her around like the dedicated mom-erottzi I was.
I am so glad that I decided to become a family photographer as it was a dream I guess I always had, but never really though of as something I could obtain. The safe route always seemed like the easier path and starting my own business was scary. I will always thank my little Brooke Lynn for constantly making and continually making myself into the person I want her to look up to which includes following your dreams and knowing nothing is too big to accomplished.
